Ebonized Burlwoods with Black Onyx and Quartersawn Birdseye Maple Art Deco cocktail cabinet.

The outer left and right hand sides along with the trim areas are in solid black onyx. The cabinet's bar service top (that flips up), bar service door (that lowers), and the four bottom storage doors are finished in a stunningly beautiful ebonized treatment applied to the original bookmatched burlwoods.

You can see the distinction of the black trim versus the ebonized finish around the bottom doors and on the sides.

This cabinet features a very wide and functional bar service area that is lined in Quartersawn Birdseye Maple which creates a beautiful contrast and complement to the ebonized and black onyx exterior. It has its original light that automatically illuminates when the bar service door is lowered and turns off when raised. The original polished chrome juicer and eight original black bakelite martini picks are included (most cocktail cabinets have six or fewer martini picks and to see them in black bakelite is really rare). The bar service interior bottom and back is lined with plate glass mirror and the bar service door has its original bevelled plate glass mirror on it as well.

The bottom storage compartments have been lined in plate glass mirrors along with plate glass shelves to provide plenty of wonderful storage for your barware and your favorite liquors.

There are three shelves on the left storage area and two shelves on the right. The bottom shelf of the right hand storage area is tall enough to house the luxury liquors that now come in the extra tall bottles. A cedar lined accessory drawer to hold bar accoutrement is also found at the top of the right hand storage compartment. Touch control halogen lighting is found on both the left and right hand storage compartments with dimming function. The bottom storage door interiors are lined in ayan curl, which was an exotic form of mahogany found in the '30's, and finished in a beautiful satin finish.

The cabinet features its beautiful original bakelite handles that are beautifully shaped and made of an ivory colored bakelite with polished brass details. The handles are all in perfect condition. The handles and all metal components on the cabinet were removed and hand polished into a gleaming result before being re-installed.

The finishing product that we employed on this cabinet is an ultra expensive and luxurious polyurethane that is totally water and alcohol impervious. It is also very hard and resilient to bumps, bruises and scratches which makes for a highly functional finish that one does not have to worry about and fret over as would be the case with lesser quality soft finishes such as French Polish, shellac or lacquer that can sustain water and alcohol damage fairly easily.

We hand sanded and polished the high gloss exterior into a smooth as silk and mirror like result. The high gloss bar service area is also hand sanded into a beautiful result. The interior bottom storage areas are in a lovely satin finish.

This cabinet is extremely elegant and quite striking in its good looks. Dimensions are 44" wide x 45 1/2" tall x 15" deep.

Please inquire.

Original Art Deco cocktail cabinet or Art Deco bar cabinet. Also known as a "cellarette".

This cabinet is made of gorgeous bookmatched European burlwood walnut on the cabinet's exterior top and door fronts. The cabinet's exterior sides are huge sweeping panels of crown cut European walnut curl in a fishbone pattern.

The interior of the cabinet is veneered in a super exotic ribbon figured ayan curl (an exotic form of mahogany). The exterior is finished in closed grain high gloss and the interior in a satin finish and/or semi-gloss finish.

The very bottom of the storage area on the bottom of the cabinet is like a mirror because we thought the bottom wood was so beautiful it would look better finished beautifully in lieu of placing a mirror there and the sides of the bottom storage area are finished beautifully as well.

The back of the bottom storage area features a plate glass mirror with a plate glass shelf and lighting added to enhance the display characteristics. The original light on the top has been re-wired to work with American circuit and turns on and off when the drop down door is opened or closed. The bottom light has a separate control.

An original juicer and a set of original bakelite martini picks may be available with the cabinet; please inquire at time of purchase as quantities are limited of these original bar accessories.

The bottom mirror in the top bar service area is original reverse painted gold stripped mirror in beautiful original condition. All metal hardware has been hand polished. The cabinet has an original label on the back that reflects the cabinet maker's name, Sureline of London, and also the name of the person or place that the cabinet was to be delivered to originally (most cabinets do not have a delivery label remaining on the back).

The Art Deco cocktail cabinet has been completely hand stripped and refinished by our expert artisans to an exceptionally high level of quality. The finishing product we used on this cabinet is totally alcohol and water impervious and very resilient to bumps, bruises and scratches. You could literally pour water or alcohol on the top of the cabinet and leave it for days and it will not harm the finish. It is among the most expensive finishing products on the market and to our knowledge no other Art Deco shop uses it becauses of how expensive it is ... however we offer the finest refinished pieces at prices below the competition's lesser quality offerings.

While the images provide a good idea as to the stunning beauty of this cabinet they still do not fully do it justice.

The dimensions of this cabinet are 29 3/8" wide x 13 3/4" deep x 43 5/8" tall.

There is a beautiful complementary center section of veneer found between the two bottom doors in a crown cut bleached walnut or possibly mahogany. There is also a naturally blonde small rounded decorative trim that sets off this complementary center section and that also runs along the bottom of the drop down door exterior.

And please pay attention to how the incredible flame burl walnut bookmatches and flows from the top of the cabinet in a seamless manner to the drop down bar service door! Absolutely stunning artisanship and quality of materials and workmanship from the Art Deco era!
