Original 1930's French Art Deco dining suite in a classic Jacques Emile Ruhlmann "U" base furniture design of exotic and highly desirable East Indian Rosewood, also known as Palisander, Bombay Rosewood, or Bombay Blackwood, which is an endangered wood in today's world. Ruhlmann furniture design incorporates a striking blonde sycamore contrast banding around the Palisander dining table's apron and on the china cabinet. China cabinet features a beautiful blonde sycamore lined interior in the storage area behind the two doors below the china display area.
Spectacular classic and timeless design that is a very functional size for today's modern homes, townhomes and condominiums. Dining table easily seats 8 for those special dinner parties and gatherings.
Ensuite pieces include Palisander dining table with one leaf, matching china cabinet and six original matching dining chairs. Additional dining chairs can be custom produced by Deco-Dence to complete seating to accommodate eight with two host and hostess chairs of a similar design (original chairs are not shown in these images ... please e-mail with request for photos). Art Deco dining suite. Stunning 1935 Italian Art Deco dining suite from Milan, Italy in a rare and exotic Brazilian Rosewood. Comprised of dining table, 6 chairs upholstered in their original elephant hide leather and buffet with lighted and mirrored china display. The dimensions of the pieces are:
Table: 63" long x 35 1/2" wide x 31 1/2" tall Chairs: 16" deep x 17 1/2" wide x 36" tall China display/buffet: 20 1/4" deep x 69 1/4" wide x 37 1/4" tall (to flat surface and 57 1/4" tall to top of mirrored china display) HOLD
The dining table and chairs are made of an incredible and rare Brazilian Rosewood with all surfaces to the buffet (except the fronts) also Brazilian Rosewood. The door fronts on the buffet are made of Dutch Elm Burl with mahogany fluting on the center sections. The hardware is all original and is made of a beautiful pale green bakelite with polished nickel. The seating area on the chairs is the original elephant hide. Elephant hide has been banned from commercial use for many years and is literally irreplaceable. The suite dates to circa 1935 and is from Milan, Italy. The suite is a fantastic example of the modern or futurist designs coming out of Europe in the mid-30's that are still so contemporary looking even today. The suite has been restored.
